Heritage Reflection

Heritage Reflection

For this unit we have been learning about heritage. Heritage is something you have pass on from your personal history generations.
In order for something to be worth passing on to the next generation I think it should fit the following criteria of hold a special memory because heritage is history and what would you pass on so when your holding a thing that your parents or grandpa gave you you think what was it like in the past. How important was it.
I learned that Heritage can be personal, local or global. Here are some examples of what represents Heritage to me.

I learned that Heritage can be personal, local or global.  Here are some examples of what represents Heritage to me.
Golden glasses
This from personal. My dad have these golden glasses that my great grandpa gave my dad. The glasses is made out of gold also the glass it's just the glass gold is a different color and you can see through it. It is over 110 years old. It can break easily now so it's not a good idea to wear it now. My dad kept the glasses inside a case so it won't break. I chose this example because it is important to my family because the history of it is really long ago so it might be really rare to find it.

Áo dài
This is from personal and local. You can do both at the same time. My Mom has áo dài which is a traditional Vietnamese shirt. Áo dài means long shirt. There are a lot of kinds of áo dài. First there are a lot of different kinds of colors. There are blue, green, pink, yellow, red and purple. Furthermore there are a lot of different styles too. There is the style that my mom is wearing, there is a style that women wear but men cannot where them. There is a style that men wear but women cannot wear. The áo dài came from a legend. The legend says that there was a great king in the past lived in Vietnam and he had 16 or 15 sons and the king is wearing the special clothes and people call it áo dài that's why we wear it from the legend. I chose this example because it holds a special memory of the king.

Ha Long Bay
This is from global. Ha Long Bay is a place where people enjoy and live. But one legend in Ha long Bay. The legend says every 12 years their is a dragon that comes down to the Bay and flies away and the mountain you see on the Bay are the dragons scales. This is in Vietnam and it's global because a legend is mostly global. I chose this example because it holds a special memory of the legend.
