Swimming This Year

This is just a free blog post about my swimming. So in my school we levels of swimming and there are 7 or 8 stages. Now I am currently on stage 4. In my class and the class next door 5C doesn't have any level 1,2 or 3 students. Swimming is not my favorite hobby but it is still fun swimming.

So on stage 4 we learned how to freestyle better by looking 45 degree back while under water and when we breathe to the side the same thing look 45 degree back. Also when we do a stroke our arm that is doing the stroke lands on the pool gently so we don't crash it down.

So it's the same thing so trying to get better at backstroke. So we practice how to streamline too!

So that was my swimming this year!!!!!!!!

PYPX Final Reflection

It took 8 weeks to finish our PYPX project and made the display. PYPX stands for Primary Year
Program Exhibition. We work really hard to get this done so here is some of the work I had done.

-I check the email when our mentor sent us emails
-I sent out and edited the Saturday Open Court Posters
-I put up the displays with Dylan(But Thien Anh was sick)
-I found pictures for the display
-I found some websites for why men exclude women at sports

In week 1 we went to a field trip in groups in different locations.
In week 2 our teachers gave us a sheet of paper and they gave us an equation Passion + Issue = Action
so we had to right our passion and an issue that is happening and our action for what can we do to help. e.g My passion is playing sports and some people exclude females when they want play sports because some males think females are not good enough to play sports and they think females should be in the kitchen, cooking and stuff like that so we are going to make a Saturday Open Court where we invited boys and girls to play basketball together so we can prove that boys and girls play sports well together and prove that the girls are good enough.

So I a gonna explain what me and my group did in our PYPX.
Our Central Idea is "We can change people perspectives on women skills at sports".
Our Lines Of Inquiry are Causation, Form, Perspective.
Causation:What are peoples perspectives on women playing sports?
Form: What causes some males to exclude female's while playing sports?
Perspective:What is Gender Equality in sports like now?

Our Action
We made a Saturday Open Court where we invited boys and girls to play basketball together and we did that so we can prove that boys and girls and play sports together well.

Adventure Challenge Unit

There was a unit in P.E where we have to do challenges and complete the challenges as a team.
So we have to do parkour and communicating. I like that unit it was really fun I would like to do it again.
Sometimes my group had some struggles making plans but at the end it was fine. The unit ended really fast I wish the unit can be longer so I can become stronger.
We had some reflections in our computers to reflect on our challenge.

In this time we are doing our PYP exhibition.
We went to our groups to 2-4 people and we will have to focus on at least 1 S.D.G and we should take action.
My passion is sports and the issue is gender inequality and we are focusing on basketball and our action is to make people change their mind about females playing sports because now people think females are not good at sports so we are trying to prove that females are good enough.
So we are gonna play basketball tournaments and in the teams we have to have girls in a team and also males.
So this is our PYPX plan are you gonna help us too?

Monarchy and Anarchy Information

Day 1 Reflection
A monarchy means a state or nation in which the the supreme power is actually or normally lodged in a monarch.
In a monarchy the citizens have to follow the Monarch's rules and not disobey him/her.
The government has to protect the monarch and their state and the citizens.
A monarchy is successful if/when the monarch has the power and the knowledge to rule his/her state.
personal comment
Being a part of a monarchy made me feel happy because I would be taking orders from the monarch and I like
following important/famous people.
I would change that there will be no guns allowed if they use guns in the country.
I would keep anything that is safe rules that won't harm anyone.
A color I would choose to represent monarchy would be orange because when you are a part of monarchy you will have
to work a lot and for me orange means tired and exhausted.
A symbol I would choose to represent monarchy would be a face that is thinking about something.
An image I would choose to represent monarchy would be a guy that is taking orders from the monarch.

Day 2 Reflection  “Anarchy sounds good to me. Then someone asks, 'Who'd fix the sewers?'”
An anarchy means a state of disorder due to absence or nonrecognition of authority.
In an anarchy the citizens have to help to disorder the good people.
The government has to support so the disordering will be stronger.
An anarchy is successful if/when they disordered a really important job for a person.
personal comment
Being a part of anarchy made me feel bad for other people.
I would change everything into good things.
I would keep nothing.
A color I would choose to represent anarchy would be purple because the purple color looks evil to me.
A symbol I would choose to represent anarchy would be an evil smile because anarchy is rude.
An image I would choose to represent anarchy would be a guy disordering a person.

E.S Maker Day

E.S Maker Day
Our project is a solar power light bulb lighter so there is a light bulb crocodile wires and other materials. We also made a poster about how solar power works. We wrote and drew pictures related to solar power. Also when it is dark we can store the energy from the sun and can use it at night time.

Today a had Maker Day where me and my group created a solar power project but today it was not really sunny so we didn't get a chance to test our project but hopefully it will work when it is sunny. I had 2 teammates and they are Ray and Kate. We also used a little help from Mr. Steff. On Friday December 15 2017 our group will go to 3 or 4 judges in Shark Tank and present our project and try to convince the judges that solar power is the best renewable energy.

The Breadwinner reflection

The Breadwinner reflection

Image result for BreadwinnerI liked the book because it was entertaining. So first there was a girl called Parvana and her dad was taken away to prison. So Parvana's mom was really sad so she stayed in bed for a long time so Parvana cut her hair so she looked like a boy so she can go to the market and buy food and materials. One of Parvana's sisters Nooria had a boyfriend and she married him.  When I was reading The Breadwinner and when saw a word that I don't understand I looked at the sentence that has that word and the sentence might give me a clue from what that word means. When I finished The Breadwinner I am gonna read Parvana's Journey.

Data Handling

Data Handling

Recently we had been working on a unit called data handling. We are about to finish the data handling unit. We have been working in my inquiry cycle group.

First I was working with a partner called Heechan and we have been working on a survey and we made a survey called favorite job.
Then Heechan and I published the survey and we send the survey to other people to fill out our form.
Finally Heechan and I checked the responses and we had over 40 responses and then we recorded the score into our google docs.

Tip:Remember always double check your work before you present it or publish it.
